Happy Holidays from Backupify – Cheers to an Epic 2013
By John DeWolf2013 was a super year here at Backupify and we hope you had a great year as well. We couldn’t have accomplished so much and experienced such growth without our customers and for that we thank you! Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and check out why 2013 rocked at Backupify:
In 2013, our customers restored 12 million files (while we drank around roughly 16,000 cups of coffee!)
Our FreeSpace tool was launched, offering Gmail storage management to actively monitor and control the storage space available in Google Apps Gmail accounts.
We are now backing up one petabyte of data on behalf of our 6,000 customers – helping them protect 500,000+ users.
With thousands of schools and universities across the world getting on board with Google Apps, we were thrilled to welcome lots of these educational institutions as our customers in 2013. As of Jan, Backupify is protecting 146,494 users in the education space. (We also created a pretty cool infographic Growing Up Google to highlight this tremendous technology adoption.)
Our Backupify for Salesforce customers got additional functionality when we added support for metadata backup.
Speaking of Salesforce.com, Backupify was a bronze sponsor at Dreamforce 2013. If you were one of the 130,000 plus attendees, you might have walked home with one of these adorable sheep to help you sleep better with backup!
If you’re a company requiring data storage flexibility, Backupify made an important announcement this past summer with “Bring Your Own Storage” giving companies a choice of where to house their secure, second copy.
Building on our success with Backupify for Google Apps and Backupify for Salesforce, we announced the launch of the Backupify Developer platform, a platform with a set of open APIs designed to extend cloud-to-cloud backup protection to additional SaaS applications.
Two Backupify-ers welcomed babies into the world this year!
We made tons of product updates – revamping our entire UI, enhancing search functionality, showcasing a new enterprise dashboard for admins, increasing backup frequency, and adding more enterprise control (detailed audit log, full domain export, customize admin users, configurable data retention).
Cheerio! Backupify added several UK companies to our customer family including Broadgate Estates and John Lewis.
We moved to a new office. With our company growth it was time for a bigger, better space so we can now be found at 17 Sellers Street (still in Cambridge) so be sure to visit us if you’re ever in the Boston area.
