From Target to TJX and more recently Home Depot, it seems like some type of security breach is always in the news. It’s a scary world out there for companies storing critical data in the cloud - or anywhere for that matter. Whether your company has 20 employees or 20,000, odds are that at least some portion of your organization’s data is residing in the cloud which means security has to constantly be top of mind. At Backupify it most certainly is and this week you can find us at the CSA (Cloud Security Alliance) Congress 2014.
Unfamiliar with the CSA? The Cloud Security Alliance is a non-profit dedicated to best practices for Cloud Computing with a focus on providing education on all things cloud security. Backupify joined the CSA over a year ago as we continued to increase our commitment to the highest security standards for our customers.
This week in San Jose there will be lots of impressive speakers diving into the most pressing cloud security topics such as how to handle a data breach, common compliance challenges, how to train employees on privacy best practices, and more. Our own CEO, Rob May will take the stage on Thursday, September 18th at 4 pm PT to discuss “Keeping Your Data Safe and Secure in the Cloud” - an issue that is near and dear to many. The panel discussion will include Steve Peltzman, Chief Business Technology Officer at Forrester Research, Tsahy Shapsa, Co-Founder and VP of Business Development at CloudLock and Steve Holly, Solutions Engineer and Google Apps Certified Deployment Specialist, Onix. During the discussion, panelists will talk about their unique experiences and offer insight into how they’ve worked to address cloud security.
If you’re attending the CSA conference, be sure to stop by Backupify’s booth, number 111 as we’ll be giving away some unique prizes for attendees. See you in San Jose!
